Hello fellow Rotarians,

As I write this message I am glad to report a successful year of Quest is behind us.  Because of the rain forecast on Friday, we had to forgo the Kimbal’s trip. But three hours of planning with help from Rudy at his Wooodbound Inn facilities and the Peterborough Movie Theater enabled the final day to conclude Quest admirably.

The District Governor, following an evening board meeting, a regular breakfast meeting and nearly a full day at Quest pointed out without reservation that we have a very active and functional club.

Signup for the District Golf Tournament is coming to an end.  We have two teams planning on participating but if other members still interested, let me know.

Remember we are helping our lead Owen Houghton with car parking for the First Church Fair at the Meetinghouse on Wednesday starting at 11:30. Stop in and give him some time if you can.

We also have the yard sale this weekend so look through your garage and attic and see if you can donate some items and time this weekend.  Items you have for the sale can be dropped off at the home of Andy Lawn, 137 Ingles Road.  Drop off after this week’s meeting is possible or by arrangement with Andy.

Congratulations to Harold Davis for getting an article on our club published in the District News Letter.  It is the first time in my memory.

Our speaker this week is Marcie Manning.  She will give her second talk on the First Ladies of the United States.  I am sure those who heard Marcie last year will be looking forward to the sequel.

Remember we are back at the Shattuck this week and will be there until after the Labor Day Holiday.

Yours in service,
Rotarian Banghart
