Happy Fourth of July!

There is no Club meeting this week because of the holiday.

As we prepare for those hazy, crazy days of Summer, we also take a moment to think of what this day means – our freedom as Americans, as voiced and verbalized by those who signed our Declaration of Independence over 240 years ago.  Many Rotarians, including myself, will participate in the reading of the Declaration at the Jaffrey Meeting House.

Gavel Night was a positive experience for two reasons.  Clay Hollister posthumously recognized Matt Bergeron as a Paul Harris Fellow, sharing many positive accolades of the contributions and time that Matt invested during his all-too-short tenure as a Rotarian.  Accepting the award was our Past President, Sheila Bergeron.

Jim Banghart, outgoing Club President, was recognized for his excellent service and leadership.  Over 40 Rotarians and spouses/significant others attended; we ate well! Thanks to Peter Russell and Jinnie for hosting Gavel night and for exemplary weather control (it didn’t rain!).

QUEST begins with our Day ONE on Wednesday, July 5th.  Lots of activity this first day and Tonya and her Committee have everything in place. 75 kids are depending on us for a great QUEST experience – and I know that we are up to the task.

The full QUEST schedule is available to Rotarians and the public by going to our website at jrrotary.org; bring your pointer over the Quest link on the ribbon below the header, and click on 2017 Mentor Schedule, the last choice of the three.  The yellow cells are associated with cancelations and you are encouraged to take one of two of those if possible.

Our next Club Meeting will be Thursday, July 13th, at Franklin Pierce University at our usual meeting room.  This will be a continental breakfast.  See you then!

Yours in service,
