November 8th message from the President

Hello fellow Rotarians,

 

It was a great event on Friday, obvious even before I heard any results.  Bill Raymond reports, that it was our best raffle ever, with income well above $18,000.  Congratulations to you all, but especially Peter Davis and his committee.  I feel compelled to single out a few members who went over and above, but my better judgment prevails, fearing I might leave someone out.  Tom Doane has posted pictures from the event on our home page so you might want to go through those.

 

Clay did a wonderful job on both the selection and award to our annual service award winner, Lorna Letourneau.  The text of his message is posted on our home page as well.  What a great story on how a regular person can make such a difference and reach so many.

 

I am also glad to report that our Quest presentation to the School Board by Tom Bennett on Monday evening was awesome.  Over half of the public present were Rotarians.

 

With such a successful week, I am going to give you all this Thursday off.  We have no meeting, because of the Veteran’s Holiday. Let's all do what we can to honor our war heros on Friday.

 

In two weeks, we have a club assembly.

 

It was the greatest week for our club during my time as a member, and I am both humbled and honored to stand up as your President.
