The Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club welcomes Rindge Chief of Police as our newest member.

Todd Muilenberg is currently serving as the newly appointed Chief of Police for the Rindge Police Department in New Hampshire. Prior to his appointment he worked for the Scottsdale Police Department in Arizona for 24 years before retiring from that agency in September of 2014. While in Scottsdale he rose to the level of Lieutenant and held several assignments to include Patrol Watch Commander, Training Unit Commander, and School Resource Lieutenant. Todd is also served as the Scottsdale Police Department’s Honor Guard Commander, Mobile Field Force Commander, and the Alternate SWAT Commander.  Todd presently lives in Rindge with his wife and two youngest children. His oldest son is proudly serving as a United States Marine. He is enjoying being back in New England, the four seasons, and being part of a tightknit community with a small hometown feel.

 

Todd joined the Scottsdale Police Department in 1990. As a patrol officer he served as a Field Training Officer. He became a Property Crimes detective in 1995 and joined the SWAT Team as a Hostage Negotiator. In 1997 Todd transferred to the Gang and Youth Intervention Unit as a detective and transitioned to become a Tactical Operator on the SWAT Team. In 1999 Todd promoted to the rank of Sergeant. After spending two years as a patrol sergeant, he was selected to serve as the Class Sergeant at the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy. In 2002 Todd became a School Resource Unit Sergeant and in 2004 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.

Todd was very active in training during his tenure with the Scottsdale Police Department. He was a P.O.S.T. certified instructor and as such was a Defensive Tactics, High Risk Vehicle Stop, Chemical Munitions, and Mobile Field Force Instructor. Todd authored and instructed the department’s Weapons of Mass Destruction and Terrorism curriculum. He attended numerous command level courses regarding Domestic Preparedness and he was a member of the City of Scottsdale’s Domestic Preparedness Team. Todd was also very active in Community Policing Initiatives, youth outreach programs, and volunteered as a baseball coach for special needs children and adults through The Miracle League of Arizona.

Todd grew up in New Hartford, New York and graduated from the State University of New York at Oswego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Forensic Science. He is an Army R.O.T.C. Distinguished Military Graduate and served as a Military Intelligence Officer in the United States Army Reserves and New York Army National Guard prior to becoming a police officer in 1990. In 2013 he graduated from the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command.
