I have to admit that I am a big fan of this 3 day work week! Not a whole lot of new Rotary news but would like to give a re-cap of last week’s Club Assembly.

Alexis Gallagher from the Jaffrey-Rindge Middle School received Student of the Month Honors. I had breakfast with the Principal Rob Clark, Alexis and her Mom. This gave me a chance to explain that we give this award out to students at 7 different schools in a 9 month period. This means you need to be an exceptionally good student to be recognized amongst the school staff. She was a very nice girl and I anticipate she will do great things with her life.

Andy Peterson was our special guest from Peterborough’s Rotary Club. He took a few minutes to thank our Club for getting them into their own “Conval Quest Program”. Then he showed us the data they has accumulated in the Camper/Students educational and behavioral improvements. The results were remarkable! Of course we knew that as we have followed the progress of our Quest Campers and our findings were the same.

It was another proud moment for our Club as we swore in Rindge Police Chief Todd Muilenberg into the membership. Todd comes to us from Arizona and is looking forward to settling into a smaller New England Community. Fortunately, he picked the right place! Make sure you welcome Todd when you see him.

Randy Morse gave out the coveted “Reverse Raffle” special recognition Awards. We greatly appreciate those distinguished members of our Club!  I appreciate that Randy recognized these people and realize that he worked as hard as anyone to help make this event a huge success. Thank You Randy!

So with all this Good Stuff happening at our Club Assembly, there was little time remaining for the main event. The main event was meant to be the biographies of Don Upton and John McCarthy. We managed to sneak in Don’s Bio which everyone enjoyed. Unfortunately, we were not able to hear about John’s bio and perhaps we will never know who he really is?! Stay tuned as John has traveled the world and has a fascinating story to be told.

Please note on your personal calendars that the Rotary Club Meetings on December 18th, January 8th and January 15th will be at Wood Bound Inn in Rindge.

Look forward to seeing you all on December 4th at FPU.
