Notice to members: you will see some links on this message that I don't know how they got there.  They were not visible in the message I got from Andy and were not visible in the message I posted until I hit the send button.  I have tried many ways to get them removed but have been unsuccessful.  Rather than not provide this bulletin I am sending it to you with these flaws.  My advice to you is to not click on any of the links, just take the message as it appears.   I have a trouble ticket in with club runner and hope to have this issue resolved in the next week.

President’s Day week and I’m sure everyone went out car shopping. It was unfortunate that we did not have a Club Meeting scheduled for this week and a number of our Members have reached out to me about rethinking this for next year. It has been a strange 2015 for Rotary with all of our cancelations.

I have loads of GOOD NEWS! We have made it past the “dead of winter”. The Red Sox pitchers and catchers are reporting to training camp. I have heard positive news from Florida on the condition of Pat and Lisa Foley! I would like to send something from the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club to the Foleys.

The Board of Directors met on Tuesday February 17. There was no major legislation passed but the meeting was productive as always. I had mentioned in past bulletins that I want to put more effort in recruiting new members. Bob Schaumann and his Ace Team on the Membership Committee are making plans for this recruiting. I also am anxious to make the Talent Show an annual event. Last year I had a grin on my face for a week after the Talent Show as it brought out the lighter side of our Club. The Board discussed possibly holding a “Casino Night” as a fund raiser and Fellowship event. Treasurer Raymond was going to research this endeavor.

This is a very quiet week for our Rotary Club but extremely busy for me. Saturday February 21st is the Monadnock SnoMoles annual Cookout and Poker Run. I am the Club’s Trail Administrator and am in-charge of this event which draws people from all over NH and Northern Mass. You wouldn’t think of a snowmobile club as being a non-profit but we are. Each year our little Snowmobile Club is the largest contributor in Southern NH to the Easter Seals Foundation. This is just another group of folks from the Monadnock Region doing good things for good people in need.

Stay warm and I’ll see you on February 26th.
