Good News! I survived another trip to the Mountains of Maine. The snow off trail was up to my shoulders and it was -15 degrees on Sunday morning when I left Mount Katahdin. The only reason I know the snow was up to my shoulders is because 1 of my buddies lost control of his snowmobile twice on Sunday and I had to help rescue him. This resulted in my missing the first half of the greatest Super Bowl ever!!! I’m not sending that Buddy a Christmas Card and am considering a golf vacation next year in some place warm!

It was nice to see everyone back at Franklin Pierce University last week. My intention was to give the speaker as much time as possible as I knew the “pipe line” would be a hot topic. Mr. Whitbeck probably could have fielded questions for another hour as we all have concerns on both sides of the issue. I thought about this as I saw the Natural Gas advertisement during the 2nd half of the Super Bowl.

The Chamber of Commerce “Annual Meeting” is on Friday night February 27th.  There will be an Award Presentation that includes “Citizen of the Year” and the “Non-Profit Award”. Our Rotary Club received the “Non-Profit Award” last year and it is my distinguished honor to present the Award to this year’s recipient. I am hoping  for strong support from our Club Members as we pass the torch from our Club to this year’s winners.

Please contact the Jaffrey Chamber of Commerce for details about this dinner event being held at “The Shattuck Ballroom”.

Tonya has the Speaker this week and she has two representatives from Monadnock Family Services doing a presentation on the “Adult Care Center”. Mary Delisle and Chris Selmer will be doing the presentation. There is no doubt that we are all advocates of being able to live our “Golden Years” in our beloved Monadnock Community. This should be very interesting and I am anxious to know what part our Rotary Club may be able to take in helping this cause?

Bill Janoch has the Invocation this week. Is it possible he will preach to us of his Credence Clear Water Revival?

No School-No Rotary.

Hope to see you all Thursday.
