I am hopeful that you all were able to dig your way out of the 5 feet of snow we received in the last 2 weeks! Although I have not put up the “Surrender Flag” yet, I promise to never do the “Snow Dance” ever again! Even my new snowmobile doesn’t like this much snow and I’m starting to feel like Jack Nicholson in “The Shining”.

We got some sad Rotary news over the weekend. Fellow Rotarian Pat Foley and his lovely wife Lisa were involved in a horrible car accident in Florida. Pat belongs to the Peterborough Rotary Club and has been a strong supporter of our Club. You would always see Pat & Lisa at our “Reverse Raffle” event. Pat was a colleague of Jason Nero’s and could often be seen playing golf with Members of our Rotary Club including myself. I hope your thoughts and prayers will be with the Foley Family in wishing the both of them a full recovery.

The Board of Directors will be meeting at 7:30 am Tuesday February 17 at the Chamber of Commerce Office. Speaking of the Chamber, don’t forget to buy your tickets to the Chamber Awards Dinner at the Shattuck Ballroom scheduled Friday February 27.

There is NO MEETING next week February 19th. We next get together on February 26th and that meeting is a Club Assembly. We have 3 Biographies being presented at this assembly, Student of the Month Presentation and reports from our Committee Chairpersons. We won’t have time to hear from all the Committees, so I am requesting that Bob Schaumann report on the Membership Committee. Don Upton report on the Fellowship Committee and John McCarthy report on the Youth Exchange.

Ben Wheeler has the Speaker for this week’s meeting and he has asked Jaffrey-Rindge School Teacher Tom Meehan to address the Club. Tom is the chief negotiator for the Teacher’s Union and he will discuss the challenges with the impending school budget and Teacher’s contract. This reminds me to Thank the dozen Rotarians that attended the Jaffrey-Rindge School Board Deliberative Session. I was proud to see so many folks come out in the frigid weather to support the “Quest” program.

Don Upton has the Invocation.

Sorry for sounding like a broken record but……delayed opening or canceled school = No Rotary Meeting.

I sincerely look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.
