Today is April 21st and another hugely successful Rotary Board of Directors Meeting took place this morning. These meetings are similar to a visit to the Dentist. Somewhat painful but the end result is worth it! I am most grateful to the Board Members dedication concerning the wellbeing of our Club.

While I point out the Board Member’s dedication, please be mindful that ALL are volunteers. I make this point as some folks were not pleased with certain committee decisions and have approached the Committee Chairperson. All Committee decisions and votes are confidential. I can assure you that the “4-Way Test” is a consideration in these decisions. As President of the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club, you can surely approach me in regards to any Rotary Club business.

Clay is our Rotary Foundation Chairman and he will soon be passing out envelopes to kick-off our Foundation Contribution drive.

This year will be different from past years and you should be aware of this change. There will be two letters in the envelope which Clay provides to you. One letter is for a donation to the Rotary International Foundation which goes toward International Projects and is part of the Paul Harris Initiative. The other letter is for a donation that would go directly toward the “Quest” program and would keep your hard earned dollars in a Local Project. In years past, we would give $100 annually to the Foundation. I am NOT asking for anyone to contribute more than they can afford.

You can write one check to your favorite cause OR you could split your funds and write 2 checks in support of both programs. The choice is yours.

Thursday April 23rd is the Club Assembly at Franklin Pierce University. This is a meeting you will not want to miss! Bernie Hampsey will be sworn-in as the Newest Member of our Club. We will present a check for $1,000 to the “Make a Wish Foundation” in honor of the Conant Lady Orioles Championship Varsity Basketball Team. Our Club has many ties to this Team including one player that is a Club Members daughter and another player that participated in Our Quest Program. Also, we will have the fascinating biographies of the $2 Bills.[Mr. Anders and Mr. Janoch].

Saturday April 25th is Roadside Clean-up day. We will assemble at the West Rindge Builders parking lot on the Jaffrey/Rindge town line at 8 am.

Typically, we wrap-up this project before 10 am and that’s what I’m shooting for. Wear your rubber boots and rubber gloves.

Service above Self.

See you Thursday.
