Greetings from the United Kingdom.

Scotland is as beautiful as ever. However, the rain came down in buckets for the 4 days I was there and the thermometer barely got above 50. I took my family to Tighnabrauich for fish and chips. I’m pretty sure you will never go to this village and there is a reason they call it the “lost coast of Scotland”.

The drive to London was quite enjoyable although my wife and daughter would argue that after spending 9 hours fearing for their lives. The weather in England was about 20 degrees warmer than Scotland. There were miles and miles of plush green fields with just as many miles of ancient stone walls. The old stone architecture of the cottages and churches makes you feel like you’ve stepped back hundreds of years in time.

Just in case you were concerned about my wellbeing, I can assure you that they did not run out of golf courses or pubs!

This week’s meeting at the Shattuck is a Club Assembly. Charitable Giving has two gifts to present this week. The Board of Directors has approved a donation to the Conant High School Music Program. The second donation goes to the Jaffrey Chamber of Commerce to help pay for a new projector. It seems fitting to help pay for this projector as our Club often uses it. Tonya will be speaking to the Club as we embark on the summer “Quest” program. This will be very informational to the newer members of the Club in an effort to explain our role in the program. It will also be a good refresher for the seasoned Quest veterans.

Friendly reminder that there is NOT a Rotary morning meeting on Thursday June 25th. This will be “Gavel Night” and a 6 pm evening fellowship event at 137 Ingalls Road in Jaffrey. You are encouraged to bring your significant others.

Sheila Bergeron has the invocation this week.

See you Thursday!
