Once again it is another busy week for the Jaffrey/Rindge Rotary Club. Today is Tuesday September 16 and we have just concluded the Board of Directors Meeting which always precludes our monthly club assembly. The Board is challenged with a mountain of Club business and after an hour and 10 minutes I raised the surrender flag and adjourned the meeting. We made good progress, all of which is positive for our members. Speaking of members, I really want to commend the Membership Committee for their hard work in formulating a proposal in what it means to be a Member of Rotary.

Wednesday night at 5 pm at the Civic Center is the presentation of the Marion Mack Johnson Civic Leadership Award. Caroline Hollister will be the recipient of this year’s award and I am hoping for a good Rotary presence to support Caroline and Clay for their support of our community. Please call Dion at the Civic Center if you plan to attend 532-6527.

Thursday as I mention,  is the Club Assembly. If you are a committee chairperson, please have your brief report ready to let the club know what you have going on. Sadie and Randy are sharing their biographies with us. The Honorable William Driscoll will lead the invocation.

Thursday afternoon, the J-R Rotary Golf contingent will head to the Eastman Links to represent our Club at the District Golf Tournament. Wish them luck!

Friday is the trip to the “Big E”. Am looking forward to next week’s meeting for a report on that event.

See you all on Thursday!
