Jaffrey-Rindge Lions Support Rotary Nicaragua Project
 
Jaffrey-Rindge Lions President Diane Phillips (C) and Vice President Rich Comeau (R) present a sizable donation to Rotarian John McCarthy to support the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary's Nicaragua project.  The Jaffrey-Rindge Lions Club heard a presentation at their June monthly meeting from Bob (Rotarian) and Diane (Lions) Schaumann, both of whom had just returned from Chacraseca in Nicaragua.  In receiving the donation, Rotarian John expressed his appreciation to the Lions for their generous gift.  The Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club is grateful and THANKS the Jaffrey-Rindge Lions!
 
 
Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club Donates to Jaffrey Adult Care Center for Their Alzheimer's Walk Team
 
Chris Selmer (Second from Right), Director of the Jaffrey Adult Care Center, receives a donation from the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club's Charitable Giving Chair, Gail Therriault (Center).  The Club is a major Sponsor donor for the Adult Care Center's team in the 2019 Western NH Alzheimer's Walk on September 15.
 
 
Nicole Von Dette Educated Us About The Ten Signs of Alzheimer's Disease
 
Nicole Von Dette, a staff presenter for the MA-NH Alzheimer’s Association, spoke at our Thursday Breakfast meeting, and shared insights relative to early signs of Alzheimer's Disease, which affects over 5.8M people, the majority of whom are over 65 years old.  Following her informative presentation, President Jon presented Nicole a "Certificate of Appreciation" for her informative talk.  Our Rotary Club donates annually to the Food Pantries of both Rindge and Jaffrey in the name of our presenters who share their expertise with us at our meetings.

Putting together a club social is no easy feat, but Andy Harris pulled it off with aplomb as around thirty Rotarians, spouses, and significant others enjoyed "She Loves Me" at the Peterborough Players.  Well done, Andy!  At Thursday's meeting, Andy announced the next event that ties to a Franklin Pierce football game.

Owen Houghton is no stranger to the impact of Alzheimer's Disease.  Wearing his "Walk to End Alzheimer's" shirt, Owen is the Co-Chair for the 2019 Walk.  Owen's comments complemented the informative presentation of Nicole Von Dette, who spoke at Thursday's Breakfast meeting on the early warning signs of Alzheimer's.
