Jed Donelan from the New England Center for Civic Life (NECCL) introduced the club to the deliberative practices used by the Franklin Pierce University organization to engage in community dialogues on controversial, contemporary issues.  Following Thursday's breakfast meeting, the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club hosted an  interactive deliberative dialogue on the topic of immigration, led by three NECCL colleagues.  Using the materials “Coming To America: Who Should We Welcome – What Should We Do?” brief developed by the National Issues Forums(NIF), which has been used to moderate dialogues across the United States, a dozen Rotarians found the community forum conversation on immigration issues to be engaging, complex and - in several ways - mind-changing, as the strong push for a "Wall" by President Trump stimulated the deliberative discussion.
