Happy Tuesday, Fellow Rotarians,

We are one day away from our first annual golf tournament and buffet dinner/auction tomorrow (Wednesday) at the Shattuck Golf Club.  We have sold out the golf field and have also maxed out capacity for the auction & buffet.   We will be downstairs at the Shattuck.

If you are golfing, you should be arriving by 3:30pm.  If you are coming for the social event and auction, an arrival time of 5:30pm would be good.   The weather is looking very conducive, and it should be a great evening.  Special thanks to Russell Gaskamp, Jon Frederick, and Andy Lawn for their efforts.

As was discussed at our breakfast meeting last Thursday, the Interact Club is going to need two Rotarians to volunteer at the Keene Community Kitchen on the following dates:
  • Tuesday, June 7th
  • Tuesday, July 5th
  • Tuesday, August 2nd

Timing is approximately 4:30pm – 6:30pm in Keene; please let Sheila Bergeron know if you are able to assist.   It will be a very rewarding experience.

Below is an upcoming schedule of future Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary meetings/events:
  • Wednesday, 5/18 = Golf/Auction event at the Shattuck Golf Club; see details above.
  • Thursday, 5/19 = NO Club Meeting this date.
  • Thursday, 5/26 = Club meeting – location and time still TBD, as we try to find a suitable back-up venue.
  • Thursday, 6/2 = NO Club Meeting due to Memorial Day holiday.
  • Thursday, 6/9 = Club meeting – location and time still TBD, as we try to find a suitable back-up venue.

Enjoy the week!

Yours in Service,

Ben

Happy Birthday, Andy Card!

Always good to have Andy Card join us.  The Card's won the 50/50 Raffle, but - as Kathleene and Andy had to go home early - they left the winning ticket with another Rotarian, with instructions to give the winnings to Karyn Andreozzi, who left Friday for her summer job.

Dave Trieb -- Back in the Saddle

Good to see David Trieb back.  With David is Bill Coleman, and both were caught unawares of the photographer while President Ben updated the Club on happenings..

Tom Frazier -- Prospective Rotarian

Tom Frazier, whom many met the previous week when Tracie's Community Farm joined us to give a presentation on community supported agriculture, has expressed interest in becoming a Rotarian.   Tom was pleasantly surprised to receive a Rotary check to cover the cost for one "share" worth of weekly vegetables, which will result in about 15 weeks of fresh vegetables being delivered weekly to both the Jaffrey and Rindge Food Pantries during the summer months.  We look forward to seeing Tom at the next meeting!  Meanwhile, Bill Coleman gives a sly smile to the photographer.

Good Turnout for Breakfast

Over twenty Rotarians, not including guests, came to our Club Assembly on Thursday, which will be the last Rotary Club breakfast meeting at Franklin Pierce University until mid-June, at which time a variety of campus activities will result in the dining facilities re-opening. With the student body returning home until the Fall semester begins, the dining facilities will be closed for about five weeks.  Information on where we will meet in the interim will come from President Ben.  Stand by!
