Hope you all are able to enjoy this last week of pleasant weather as we say goodbye to October and prepare to face the reality that winter is coming. I really enjoy the New England winters and am already looking forward to the holiday season.

Saturday October 25th we sent 2 fellow Rotarians to the District Membership conference in Brattleboro, VT. Tom Doane and Bob Schaumann represented our club and I am sure they will share their thoughts on the conference at tomorrow’s meeting. I appreciate them taking the time to take part in an effort that Rotary Clubs are all facing, which is recruiting and maintaining members. Our Club’s time to shine and “Light Up Rotary” will be next Friday night at the Reverse Raffle. I would encourage all members of the club to reach out to our friends attending the Raffle and ask them to consider joining our community service organization.

“Reverse Raffle” efforts are well underway and the finish line is in sight! We have 1 week to try and sell the remainder of our tickets. Please make sure you bring your unsold tickets to tomorrow’s meeting and give them to your Team Captain or Tom Doane. At this point, I hope there are very few tickets that are not sold? The club and community have provided the best auction and door prize items we have ever had! This promises to be an eventful evening accented by the live Celtic ensemble.

Bill Anders has provided the speaker for tomorrow’s meeting from AARP. There will be some valuable information presented regarding identity theft and fraud protection.

Gail will have 2 guest receiving checks that the Charitable Giving Committee has approved. One check goes to the local Grange in an effort to provide dictionaries to all the Third graders in the Jaffrey-Rindge School district. The other check is going toward a Dental program that buys back the children’s Halloween candy and ships it to our troops overseas. [Talk about re-gifting!]

Matt Bergeron has the Invocation.

Yours in Rotary.
