Camp BEST Update since COVID-19 (May 18, 2020)
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Working with the Monadnock Bible Conference and Roy Baldwin, the Jaffrey/Rindge Rotary Club anticipates the strong likelihood that Camp BEST will take place at the Conference Center facility in July.  The camp will host as many as 50 BEST campers, according to Dan Bemis. This will be a smaller number of campers than in years past.
The dates for the camp are the same as originally planned, i.e., July 6 - July 31. The SAU will participate as they have before.  The academic program is largely unchanged, and the afternoon camp programs will be created and managed by the Conference Center staff.  Lunch will be included for campers.
Unlike previous years, no Rotarian volunteers will be utilized.  The Conference Center staff is adequate for overseeing the anticipated number of campers, and by doing so, this will minimize putting senior "at risk" Rotarians in possible harm's way.
As this is breaking news, many details are still being worked out.  Governor Sununu's COVID-19 policies that affect statewide camp operations could still impact our plan.  Nonetheless, in anticipation of a "green light," we are moving forward with gratitude and optimism!
Yours in service,
Tonya Albee, Rotary Chairperson
