Promoting Peace -- Roy Baldwin

Now that our series of snow cancellations is over (at least for now -- we still have to get through March and April!), the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club was finally able to host our very own Rotarian Roy Baldwin, Executive Director of the Monadnock Christian Ministries, who spoke eloquently on the topic of "promoting peace."  Highlighting Rotary International’s role in promoting peace among its members and around the world, he began by engaging his Rotarian audience in an exploration of what peace meant to them.  Beyond the absence of war, definitions included relationships devoid of conflict with respectful and healthy aspects.  Roy pointed to negative peace as absence of a feeling of safety or fear of violence.  He indicated that “While peace is not devoid of conflict, it is often achieved when the conflict is healthy.  Peace starts with each of us and our ability to create safe and healthy spaces.”

David Trieb, Prospective Rotarian

Rotarian Jim Banghart chats with David Trieb from Rindge, who attended his second breakfast meeting and to learn more about becoming a Rotarian.  We look forward to David's again joining us for breakfast!

Rotarians About the Room

Harold Davis and his roving camera caught Rotarians Andy Lawn (Top) and Russell Gaskamp (Bottom) enjoying the breakfast meeting "Happy Fines" comments that were made by many.  Good, too, to have both Harold and Peter Davis back with us again!

Anyone Remember THIS Picture?

Yep, that's Tom Bennett being inducted as a Rotarian several years ago.  With Tom is Jed Brummer, currently our President-Elect for Rotary year 2020-2021.
