Dr. Stephen B. Jones joined Antioch University New England (AUNE) as president July 1, 2013. AUNE is exclusively a graduate degree granting university, enrolling some 1,000 students (two-thirds Master's and one-third doctoral), focusing on Environmental Studies and Sustainability, Education, Psychology, and Business. Dr. Jones recently secured AUNE membership in UArctic. He, in effect, is coming home to the Northland!
 
Prior to AUNE, Dr. Jones served as president of Urbana University for five years and as chancellor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks from 2004 to 2008. three years.
 
When a recruiter approached Dr. Jones about Alaska his answer was NO. Later that night his wife's was " Are you kidding." The no became a yes and the loving look his wife gave him on the way to the interview was "This better be good!"
During Dr. Jones stay in Alaska he did a climate study. He took temperature readings twice daily for a week. The finding were the average hi for the 7 days was well below zero and the average low was was 28 degrees below zero. His conclusion: There is no such thing as global warming.
