Hi Rotarians,
This week on Thursday, August 22nd, we will meet at the Jaffrey Chamber of Commerce parking lot in downtown Jaffrey at 8:00 am. There will be no meeting at the Cathedral of the Pines this week. Please come with your coffee, and we will begin to distribute and place roadside signs in Jaffrey and Rindge that welcome students back to school and to the new academic year. The message is simple: "DREAM BIG, WORK HARD, A GREAT YEAR IS AHEAD"! These signs, which will remain in place for about two weeks, will be a visible symbol of our support for the Jaffrey-Rindge school students and the returning students at Franklin Pierce University. Please remember where you placed these signs, as you are asked to collect them for use again next year.
On the same day (August 22), we will also have a Rotary social event at the Peterborough Players at 5:30pm, followed by the "Man from La Mancha," the season's best musical, at 7:30pm. We look forward to seeing all the Rotarians who plan to attend. Remember to bring a hors d'oeuvres dish and BYOB for the social.
It was good to see the many Rotarians and guests at our last meeting, and we trust everyone enjoyed the pancakes, thanks to our two chefs and Don Upton's syrup. Following our breakfast meeting, we had a productive discussion on the plan and schedule for our upcoming Fundraising event on October 26th. The Raffle Party is is important, and we are thrilled to see Rotarians' enthusiasm and eagerness to contribute to its success.
Summer is flying by quickly, and we are excited about the Fall season and Franklin Pierce University's (FPU) opening. Therefore, we plan to return to our Breakfast Meetings at the University at 7:15 a.m. on August 29, which will be the first week of classes.
Last but not least, Bruce Hill sent the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club as letter of thanks: "On behalf of the Jaffrey Center Summer Fair and the First Church in Jaffrey, we offer our deep thanks and appreciation for your traffic control and parking service on August 7th. Your experience and able volunteers managed the visiting patrons safely. Thank you for your community service."
It is always a pleasure to share ideas and discuss our community service initiatives, as this year's theme is "We work for the community with the community."
We eagerly look forward to seeing you at the upcoming events and meetings. Your presence and active participation make our club vibrant and dynamic.
Yours in Service,
Rudra
