Good morning fellow Rotarians,
I hope everyone safely survived Tropical Storm Henri and that you are looking forward to seeing the sun for a few days the rest of the week. We will be meeting this Thursday, August 26th, at 7:45am, at the Woodbound Inn.
This will be our last summer breakfast meeting at the Woodbound. Our guest speaker will be the Executive Director/President of the Monadnock United Way, Liz Larose. She will be providing an update on how the past 18 months have been for the United Way, given all that has taken place, and she will be highlighting some of the programs that directly serve residents in our geographic area.
A few dates to set aside as details come together on the following:
- Tuesday, August 31st = Food Bank Distribution at Hannaford's in Rindge, 11am - 1:00pm. Rotarian volunteers needed.
- Thursday evening, September 9th = we will host the FPU football team for a dinner for all of their volunteer efforts the past two years, led by Head Coach Russell Gaskamp. Rotarian Andy Lawn is greatly assisting in spearheading this event.
- Saturday, October 2nd = we are in process of renting tent space for a tailgating event at the FPU football game that day. It will be similar to the event we held there two years ago, and exact details will follow. They will be playing Assumption College, with a 1:00pm game start time.
- Friday, October 29th = please save the date for our Annual Raffle/Fundraising Event to be held that evening at the Woodbound Inn. Rotarians Jon Frederick and Stephanie Porter are assisting me with the preliminary details, and we will be looking to recruit some additional Rotarians to join us to plan this event and coordinate all of the details, etc.
Finally, we remember Rotarian Russ Robertson, who passed away on July 7th. A "Celebration of Life" at the Robertson home in Dublin this past Saturday honored Russ's memory.
