Hi Fellow Rotarians,

I hope everyone had a nice Fourth of July weekend!

This week’s meeting of the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club will be on Thursday, July 14th, at Franklin Pierce University at 7:15am. This will be a Club Assembly, with reports on community service, efforts to explore a relocation program for Ukrainian families, and club goals for the coming year.   Please come and bring your ideas.   In addition, Bill Coleman will present the speaker's program for the year, and will share how this will work, with each Rotarian being assigned responsibility for one speaker.

The Board of Directors will meet Wednesday, July 13th, at 8:00am, at the Jaffrey Chamber of Commerce building on Main Street.

Our Rotary Breakfast meeting on July 21st at FPU will feature Jennifer Kiley, Director for Applied Technology Center, Region 14, who will share new vo-tech education opportunities in the Monadnock Region.

I’m looking forward to hosting our first meeting of the new Rotary year!

Yours in Service,

Peter

Cars Everywhere -- Rotarians Handled Amos Fortune Forum Parking Duties

You can't see Jaffrey-Rindge Rotarians at work, as they were situated all over the Meetinghouse lawn to ensure safe parking for all those who attended the Amos Fortune Forum's first Summer 2022 program.  Perfect weather highlighted the informative evening with journalist Carl Bernstein, and Rotarians - in return for volunteering to help out - had front-row seats.

Changing of the Guard

President Ben Wheeler, in his closing remarks as outgoing President, thanked everyone for their support during his presidency, while speaking highly of incoming President Peter Russell.  Ben wished Peter well, as President (2022-2023) of the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club.

"E" for Excellence !

The "E" for Excellence Award is often bestowed on United States Navy ships in recognition for various things done well.  The "E" Award to President Ben was in recognition not only for his presidency during a year in which we (hopefully) left the pandemic behind, but also because the award plaque to "Benjamin J. Wheler" was missing that third "e" in Ben's last name.  The good news... a new plaque has been order with the correct name of "Benjamin J. Wheeler."

Tom Frazier, Our Newest Rotarian

In one of his last acts as President, Ben Wheeler (center - TOP) inducts Tom Frazier (L) as our newest Rotarian.  Russ Gaskamp (R), Membership Chair, holds the Membership plaque. Tom's sponsor is Bob Schaumann, who was behind the camera. In the second picture, Rotarians Owen and Rudra congratulate Tom on his induction.

Shades of Bill Driscoll !??!

It's hard to tell whose slacks are more reminiscent of the late Bill Driscoll, but Joe Manning (R) and President Ben Wheeler certainly bring back memories of a great Rotarian who is very much missed.  We'd have to give the nod to Joe on this one!
