Dear Rotarians,

The next meeting of the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club is on July 18th at 7:15am at the Jaffrey Fire Station. Our guest speaker will be from the Jaffrey Fire Department.  As we need a headcount, please confirm your attendance by emailing Rotarian Andy Lawn at andy.lawn@installed.net if you have not done so already.  Breakfast will be served, as cooked by the Jaffrey firefighters.

We had a wonderful morning meeting on July 11th at the Cathedral of the Pines. Thank you to Sheila Bergeron for the delicious breakfast and John McCarthy for the coffee.  We ate well!

During our Club Assembly, some of the highlights discussed included community service projects, such as the proposed after-school program in Jaffrey, the Club's upcoming fundraising event on October 26, and roadside signs with inspirational messages for Jaffrey and Rindge students returning to school in August.

Our Club will also participate as Car Parking Volunteers at the First Church of Jaffrey Annual Fair on August 7. Please contact Owen Houghton to let him know of your availability between 11am and 2pm (or any part of that window) at nohoughton@myfairpoint.net .

Yours in Service,

Rudra

President Rudra's First Club Assembly

President Rudra's first Club Assembly shared significant information on topics presented in the July Board of Director's meeting held earlier in the week on Wednesday.  A good series of discussion and information sharing occurred.  A keynote accomplishment was the naming of Sam LaFortune as chairperson for the October 26th Raffle Party.  A meeting of the committee immediately followed the Club Assembly.

Old and the New Presidents Confer

President Rudra Aryal (L) and Past Co-President John McCarthy exchange information prior to Thursday's Club Assembly.  Both John and Past Co-President Bill Coleman have invested significant time with Rudra over the past few months to help him get off to a fast start during his presidency!

We Ate Well at the Club Assembly!

Thanks to Rotarian Sheila Bergeron's culinary skills, she kept us well fed with her breakfast sausage casserole - three of them, which helped to fill empty Rotarian stomachs.  Rumor is that another pancake breakfast is coming in August!

What's That on Ben's Face?

Well, if we can't grow it on our head, let's grow it on our face.  Ben Wheeler sports a well-trimmed goatee, although rumor has it that Ben plans to shave it off!  Ben did a fine job as our Interact liaison this past year at Conant High School.

Thomas Ahlborn-Hsu, New Rotarian

Thomas Ahlborn-Hsu, one of our two newest Rotarians, enjoys breakfast!  Tom was inducted, along with Christine Bergeron, as our newest Rotarians during the Gavel Night festivities on June 27th.

Dr. Marc Winiecki to be Inducted on July 18th!

Marc had no choice but to smile, as the photographer was seated next to him at breakfast!  Marc will be inducted by President Rudra on Thursday, July 18th, as our newest Rotarian.  The good doctor recently opened his own private practice in Jaffrey. Welcome aboard, Dr. Winiecki!
