Dear Rotarians,

Our thoughts go out to all those in Texas and elsewhere who are being devastated by floods.  Over 100 people have died, including many young campers who were swept away by the flash floods. We are graced by living on the shoulders of a mountain well above sea level, but we are not immune from having potential deluges threaten us. Prudence dictates that we all have an appropriate level of preparedness for this kind of disaster.

As you may already know, we will be meeting four times this summer. Our next meeting is on Thursday, July 10th, at 7:15am, at the Jaffrey Fire Station on Turnpike Road.  Bring your appetite, as the firefighters always prepare a tasty breakfast, just as they did last year.

Our speaker will be Town Manager and Rotarian Jon Frederick, who will bring us up-to-date on the Rt. 202 rotaries and bridge project that is now well underway. This is a good opportunity to bring along someone who might be a prospective new member because this project is of great interest to almost everyone local.

Lastly, each summer, the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club hosts a social at the Peterborough Players in early August. Rotarian Don Upton will provide details for this year's soiree at our Thursday breakfast meeting to include the date, the play, and additional information, e.g., pricing, deadline for requesting tickets, etc.

See y'all on Thursday morning!

Yours in Service,

Tom Ahlborn-Hsu
