Hello fellow Rotarians,

Don’t forget Gavel Night on Thursday at 5:00pm, at the Russell’s, 4 Gilson Road, in Jaffrey.  I'd like to have all hands on deck to welcome our new President, Ben Wheeler.  The weather looks to be terrific.  Please park in the field near the barn.  For those for whom walking may present a challenge, you may park behind the house.

Rotarians, I want to thank you all for your help and support during this COVID year.  To say the least, it’s been different.  In-person meetings are now our future.

See you all on Thursday!

A Rotarian in Service,

Mary Drew, CEO and Founder of Reality Check, Our Guest Speaker

Mary Drew, CEO and Founder of Reality Check, was our guest speaker at our most recent meeting.  With its mission to "Holistically reduce drug and alcohol use, addiction, and overdose, and the related social and economic costs to youth, adults, families, and businesses by providing comprehensive addiction services," this non-profit organization has seen an uptick in a demand for its services due to the pandemic.  During her presentation, Mary talked to what she is seeing regionally relative to addiction and related illnesses during what has been a trying year.

Ben Wheeler Gets Ribbed

President-elect Ben Wheeler got some good-natured ribbing from Mary Drew during her informative presentation on the impact of COVID in towns in which Reality Check provides services.  Seems that Mary and Ben were grade school classmates.  You'll have to ask Ben why he was the subject of the ribbing!

Jaffrey-Rindge Rotarians Listened Intently as Mary Drew Shared the Realities of Addiction During the Pandemic.

Over two dozen Rotarians and guests learned what is needed and what currently is available insofar as addiction and treatment for those in need.
