Dear Rotarians,
This Thursday, June 25th, is Gavel Night, and Peter Russell has graciously offered to host this at his house at 4 Gilson Rd, Jaffrey. The time is 5:00 - 7:00pm (a bit earlier than originally scheduled) to avoid the potential rain. Spouses are welcome, so please invite your partner. Food is provided, but BYOB. If it rains, we will move the meeting to Milliken Manor, as the Cathedral has a blood drive that day. Look for an email that will arrive by 4:00pm Thursday from our Secretary that will alert you to our final location, given the real-time weather scenario.
We will not meet the following week due to the July 4th holiday. Our next regular meeting will be on July 9th at the Cathedral of the Pines, and we will have a pancake breakfast, courtesy of Bill Coleman and Bob Schaumann.
Looking for things to do this summer? There are plenty! On Friday, June 26th, Rindge will celebrate the Nation's 250th anniversary with a parade, games, food, and fireworks on the Rindge Common from 5-9:30 pm. Jaffrey's Concerts on the Common start Wednesday, July 1st, at 5:30pm, for a series of eight free Wednesday Night concerts by your favorite local bands. On July 4th, we will have the annual reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Jaffrey Meeting House at noon. The Park Theatre is hosting many events all weekend. Our participation in the National Potluck Supper will happen on the Jaffrey Town Commons on Sunday, July 5th, from 4:00 - 6:00pm.
