Hello Fellow Rotarians,

Happy Tuesday, and enjoy the beautiful day.

This week we will be hosting our Gavel Night at Peter Russell’s home on 4 Gilson Road in Jaffrey on Thursday evening, June 30th, starting at 5:30pm.   This is a BYOB event and will be catered by our own Stephanie Porter.   The weather is looking great, and we will be inducting a new Rotarian (Tom Frazier), so it should be a great evening!

Because of Gavel Night, we will not meet at Franklin Pierce University this Thursday, June 30th.  As the Fourth of July holiday is next week, our first July meeting will be July 14th at Franklin Pierce University.

Don Upton tells us that more than half of the tickets have been sold for the August 11th Peterborough Players 7:30pm performance of "2 Pianos, 4 Hands."  A Happy Hour starts off the evening at 5:30pm. Call Don at (603) 876-3626 to request tickets ($40 each); send him a check (made out to Don) to 1024 Mountain Road, Jaffrey, NH, 03452 to "seal the deal."

This will be my last weekly President's Message.  It has been my pleasure and privilege to serve as the Club President the past 12 months, and I am extremely confident that our incoming President, Peter Russell, will do an excellent job.

I look forward to seeing you all on Thursday evening!

Yours in Service,

Ben

Dr. Pierre Morton, Chief Diversity Officer, Guest Speaker

Dr. Pierre Morton, Chief Diversity Officer at Franklin Pierce University, was our guest speaker at our recent Thursday meeting.  Incorporating his good sense of humor with insights about his role, a clear message became evident of the importance of creating an ongoing inclusive environment for each student, faculty, and staff member at Franklin Pierce.  Thanks, Pierre, for an enjoyable and informative presentation!

Our New Temporary Meeting Place

Because of various summer programs at Franklin Pierce, our usual meeting room is not available to us during July.  Instead we will meet, at least for the July 14th and 21st meetings, in the room immediately to the right of the coffee station.  "Reverend" Owen Houghton starts us off with our first meeting at our new "home" with an inspirational invocation.

Rindge Diner?

Rindge Diner?  Not really, as Rotarians Stephanie, Jon, and Peter catch up on Sheila's latest doings with Interact during breakfast in our temporary meeting room.

President Ben Shares Announcements

With two weeks to go, President Ben Wheeler continues to demonstrate energy and enthusiasm, as he hosts his next to last meeting of the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club.

The Last Day of Spring - Summer's Here!

Taken from the deck of the Schaumann residence on the last day of Spring, a nice sunset over Mt. Monadnock set the stage for Summer's entrance the next day.  Warmer weather is forecast for the summer, and Gavel Night on Thursday should find great weather on the menu!
