Hi, Fellow Rotarians,

Our annual Golf Event and Auction is Wednesday, May 17th, at the Shattuck, followed by a dinner and live auction.  Looking forward to seeing everyone at our annual fun fund raiser.  Because of this event, the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club will not meet on Thursday morning.

Our next meeting will be Thursday, May 25th, at 7:30am, at the Cathedral of the Pines.

See you Wednesday!

Yours in Service,

Peter

Adrienne Kennedy, Interactor of the Month

President Peter Russell congratulates Conant High School senior Adrienne Kennedy on her selection as "Interactor of the Month."  Adrienne, who graduates in June and who will matriculate at UNH in the Fall, was recognized as one who exemplifies "Service Above Self" via her involvement in a dozen of Interact programs during her senior year.  Adrienne later this morning participated with three of her fellow Interactors when she presented details about the group's service project visit to the Dominican Republic.  Congratulations, Adrienne!

Brandon Tarrats, Student of the Month

Sam LaFortune (L) presents Conant High School student Brandon Tarrats (C) with the Student of the Month award for the month of April.  Brandon was recognized for his progress over the past few years as a student and as a person.  It was only a few weeks earlier than Brandon's younger brother, Bryce (R), received a similar recognition from the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club as their Student of the Month for the month of March.  Congratulations, Brandon!

Interactors Laurel Bennet and Kelly Williams Share Their Dominican Republic Experiences

Eight Conant Interactors - four seniors and four juniors - traveled to the Dominican Republic over their Spring break for a service project.  All four seniors came to the Rotary to share their experiences in this Caribbean country.   Laurel Bennett (L) and Kelly Williams (R) found the island to be beautiful, but with a real dichotomy insofar as demographics, noting the affluency and poverty.  Upon graduation in June, Laurel will attend Plymouth State College and Kelly will attend UNH in Durham. All four senior Interact members are heavily involved in sports, with each participating in various sports, e.g., basketball, volleyball, swimming, volleyball, tennis, and track.

Emma Tenters, Interactor

Emma Tenters and Adrienne Kennedy (not pictured) also presented and shared their experience.  Emma, who was a star basketball player for Conant, will attend Emmanuel College in Boston in the Fall.  No surprise -- she will be on their basketball team!

Steve Miller is NOW "officially" a Rotarian

Russ Gaskamp presents Steve Miller with his badge.  Now that he is in possession of his name badge, Steve is now "officially" a Rotarian.

Jon Frederick Gives a Thumb's Up!

Can't remember what it was for, but Jon Frederick gave a "thumb's up" to something that a Rotarian said.  As Jaffrey Town Manager, he looks forward to several months of "no snow," given the challenges of the 30+ inches of white stuff that mid-March provided in one of the heaviest snowfalls seen in the Monadnock region in years.  Perhaps a "thumb's up" for warm weather?

Gas Reports on the Golf Outing

With the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club's upcoming Fund Raiser at the Shattuck on Wednesday, May 17th, Russ Gaskamp brought everyone up to date on that day's activities.  With a full field of golfers for the fun event, complemented by a dinner and a live auction, it promises to be a great event.  Rotarians are reminded to let Gas know that they want tickets to the dinner!  It's not too late!
