Hi Fellow Rotarians,

Our Thursday, May 4th, meeting will be at Franklin Pierce University at 7:15am.  Mike Perreault will become our newest Rotarian, and Reverend Jessica Johansson will be our guest speaker.  As an ordained interfaith minister, she will speak on end-of-life care and assisting in the dying process.

Wednesday, May 17th, will be the JRR Golf Gala & Dinner at the Shattuck. Get tickets at this week's meeting. Because of this Wednesday event, we will not have a breakfast meeting on Thursday, May 18th. Be sure not to miss out on the Golf Gala!

Looking ahead, the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary hosts a summer social event at the Peterborough Players.  The tickets quickly sell out, and it is recommended you circle your calendar for this event that will take place on Thursday evening, July 13th, at 5:30pm. Yes, cocktails and awesome hors d’oeuvres!

The show starts at 7:30pm.  Tickets to see the "Maytag Virgin" are $40 per person.  Everyone brings a plate to share and whatever you want to drink.  We provide ice, cups, plates, napkins, etc.  Please send checks to:  Donald Upton, 1024 Mountain Road, Jaffrey, NH 03452.  Do this NOW, as tickets are limited.

Yours in Service,

Peter

Matt Keenan, Monadnock Habitat for Humanity

President of Monadnock Habitat for Humanity, Matt Keenan was our Guest Speaker, and he shared insights relative to what his organization has done, is doing, and hopes to do in the future.  Matt is also chair of their Building Committee.

Mike Shea Introduces Matt Keenan

Past Rotary President Mike Shea introduced Matt Keenan, who serves as President of Monadnock Habitat for Humanity.  Matt is also an employee of Belletetes.  You weren't seeing double -- Matt wore his Belletetes' company shirt when he arrived for our Breakfast Meeting, but for his presentation, he quickly slipped his Habitat for Humanity shirt over his Belletetes' shirt when no one was looking.

In April, Snowbirds Return to New Hampshire

Looking rested and well-tanned, we welcomed back Rotary President Peter Russell with some good natured-ribbing.  Rotarian Jim Banghart also returned, sporting a tan.  Welcome back, Peter and Jim!

Getchyer' Winning Tickets Here....!

Tom Frazier mans the ticket table where hopeful Rotarians plunk down $2.00 with the hope of winning the weekly 50-50 drawing.   Tom has been a great help with morning set-up and, especially, the return of Rotary items to our storage closet at the end of each meeting.  Thank you, Tom!!

"Ah'm gonna' Win THIS Time...."

Owen Houghton and Steve Miller, both with 50-50 tickets in hand, hope that Lady Luck will visit them. However, it was David Jeffries who gained Lady Luck's favor, as he won last week's "massive" sum and promptly donated it back to the Club.  The Queen of Diamonds has so far managed to elude Rotarians hoping to hit the jackpot!

How c-c-c-c-cold Was It?

Jeff Dickler welcomed Peter Russell back to the somewhat warm climes of New Hampshire.  We're not quite sure what Jeff was saying, but we're sure that Jeff was "sympathizing" with Peter that temps in Florida "dipped" into the fifties while Peter was down south.  Peter missed the snowfall of six weeks ago when the Monadnock region received three feet of the white stuff.  Such a shame...

Rudra Contributes to Happy Fines

Rudra Aryal (L) shares his Happy Fines stories while Tom Frazier (C) and Richard Feldman listen in.  Monies raised via Happy Fines make up a major part of the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club's annual donations to the Food Pantries in both Jaffrey and Rindge.
