Dear Rotarians,

Look up and not down. Look forward and not back.
Look out and not in, and lend a hand.
                                                     - Edward Everett Hale -

Hoping everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather over the Columbus Day weekend last week!

The Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary will NOT meet this week due to our evening event hosting our Community Supper at the United Church in Jaffrey.

Today, Tuesday, October 20th, candidates for the NH Executive Council, NH Senate, and NH House of Representitives from Dublin, Jaffrey, and Rindge will participate in a Candidate's Night at Franklin Pierce University from 5:30pm to 7:30pm (doors open at 5pm).  The event will be held in Spagnuolo Hall, and is hosted by the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript, in partnership with the University and the League of Women Voters of NH PeterboroughPlus unit.

Last week, members of the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary had fun Volunteering for the Jaffrey Fall Fest. We enjoyed helping out while the children and parents made their scarecrows. It was also a pleasure to see Tom Hsu and his band, Witts End, play during the event. Thank you everyone for all your help!

UPDATE: Mike Shea and I made the decision to postpone our Roadside Clean-up this past Saturday due to the weather.  We will now have our Roadside Clean-up this coming Saturday, October 24th, at 8:00am, and we will meet at Emma's 321 Pub and Kitchen in Rindge to clean-up a two-mile stretch of highway on Route 202. PLEASE join us if you can, as many hands make light work.

We will join in on the fun on Friday, October 30th, to hand out candy for the Jaffrey Trick or Treating on the Jaffrey Common from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.  All Rotarians are invited to stop on by.

Our next meeting on October 29th will find us again at the University at 7:15am. Our speaker will be our very own Dr. Jim Potter.

Yours in Service,

Donna

Catching Rotarians doing what Rotarians do best...

Jaffrey-Rindge Rotarians Volunteered at Fall Fest on October 10th

Rotarians at the Fall Fest included (L-R) Jim Banghart, Bob Schaumann, Tom Alhborn-Hsu, Donna Senechal, and Alex Petit. Not in photo, Ben Wheeler and William Coleman, who also volunteered during the day.

Rotary was there helping families create their Fall Fest masterpieces!

Fall Fest brought several dozen families to the Clay Library grounds between 12 Noon and 4:00pm to "stuff" hay and make artistic renderings of... well, YOU figure it out... as Town of Jaffrey Recreation Department and volunteers set them up on Main Street, where they will be on display for much of October.  The Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary sign let everyone know their Rotary Club was there in the thick of things.

Witt's End Band Provided Entertainment for Fall Fest

Witts End, Rotarian Tom Alhborn-Hsu's band, provided music for the Fall Fest event.  In case you are wondering which one is Tom, he's the one in the space suit!
