Hi Fellow Rotarians,

We meet at Monadnock Christian Ministries for our Breakfast Meeting on Thursday, June 6th, at 7:15am, and will be hosted by Executive Director (and fellow Rotarian) Roy Baldwin.  Andy Harris has the Invocation.

This breakfast meeting will feature the "ribbon cutting" for the new playground, which will provide children enrolled in the "Launch Point" after-school program plenty of ways to burn off energy.  As you know, the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club donated considerable funds for the playground equipment, and we are pleased they have been put to good use by Monadnock Christian Ministries.

After breakfast, some quick club business, and Happy Fines, we will go out to the new playground for the "ribbon cutting." Rotarians will see the playground equipment set up and ready for enthusiastic kids. For entertainment, we might even see an exhibit by Bill Driscoll and Joe Manning swinging on the "Monkey Bars" (that's what they are called).  Bernie Hampsey will provide back-up support.

Good to see thirty Rotarians and volunteers at the BEST training on Monday (yesterday) at the Jaffrey Public Library.  Library Director Julie Perrin and her staff will be a welcome addition at Camp BEST this year, as will Marek Bennett, who educated us on the subtleties of comics and cartoons.  The picture of yours truly is because it was the only one sent to me by the library staff... along with a picture of Marek.  No picture of Marek's pooch, Greta, unfortunately.

Some of our Rotarians will be headed to Leon, Nicaragua, this week to meet with the Leon Rotary Club, FNE representatives, and other key personnel, as we put the final touches on our major international project that will bring potable water and sanitation facilities to a local village.  Returning Rotarians will share their experiences at our June 20th breakfast meeting at the Shattuck.

Gavel Night is Thursday, June 27th, at Peter and Jinnie Russell's House -- everyone should plan to bring an appetizer dish, which will be complemented by hot hors d'oeuvres from a local caterer.  Of course, spouses or significant others are warmly invited!  Let's give our President-elect Jon Frederick a good start as he begins his 2019-2020 presidency!

Yours in Service,

bob
