Hi Fellow Rotarians,
John and I would like to thank Owen Houghton and Steve Miller for an extremely informative overview on Amos Fortune and the upcoming dedication ceremony that will take place on Friday, August 18th.
Thirteen Rotarians turned out on Friday at Noon, along with many town officials and friends, to recognize former Town of Jaffrey Selectman and former Cheshire County Commissioner (and current Rotarian) Peter Davis at the unveiling of signage on the bridge where Hadley Road intersects with the Old Sharon Road. A motion at the March 2023 Jaffrey Town meeting moved that the bridge over the Contoocook River at that intersection was to be named in honor of Peter Davis. As a result, signage at the bridge now says "Dedicated to Peter B. Davis." Congratulations, Peter!
A reminder that this Thursday's meeting at 7:15am will be a Club Assembly, and we will be back in the cafeteria at Franklin Pierce University. John and I will be discussing 2023/2024 service project options and opportunities.
Saturday will be the big Jaffrey 250th Anniversary Parade, and the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club will be in it. Staging will occur at 9:30am at the Middle School parking lot, and the parade will kick off at 10:00am, winding up at St. Patrick's Church. Donna Senechal is donating her convertible. Please join us as marchers in the parade from 10am to 12 noon. Rotarians, spouses, significant others, and Interactors are all invited to participate. Next celebration will be in 2073, so don't miss THIS one!
Yours in Service,
Bill/John
