Hi Fellow Rotarians,
Our next meeting of the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club will be on Thursday, October 19th, at 7:15am, at Franklin Pierce University.
Many thanks to the Rotarians and spouses that joined us Saturday morning for the Roadside Cleanup and to clean up the trash on Route 202. These are the type of activities in which folks who cannot make the weekly meetings can participate and support our club.
John and I will be reaching out to past Rotary Presidents to meet offline and discuss key topics such as club participation and what we can do to attract and retain new members. We also need to discuss what our current members expect and require from our Rotary club.
We will also be reviewing the following updated 2023/2024 project list and finalize the project leader’s expectations.
- TBD-2023 Rotary Fund Raiser
- Russ Gaskamp - overnight warming shelter for homeless through his Peterborough Church
- Bill Raymond - Convert former welcome center/gazebo site to a pollinator garden; tidy up & weed whack around signs coming into Jaffrey & Rindge
- Harold Davis, Donna Senechal - Coat Drive; Bird seed sales
- Rudra Aryal - Discussion with JRMS/Conant Students on Science and Math
- Lori Rautiola – Welcome to Rindge signs throughout town
The following three projects are also potential candidates but need dates, cost estimates, and member ownership/ support to proceed.
- Greg Walsh – Rotary Garage Sale
- Andy Lawn/Owen - Community meal
The following two projects are complex and will require financial and staff support from our club members. Both are excellent candidates as they will help support the youth in our local communities.
- Bob Schaumann/Sheila Bergeron - After school program at Jaffrey Grade School
- John McCarthy - Nutrition assistance for students in the Jaffrey-Rindge Cooperative School District. This would be a follow up to our Club’s 2018 startup support of the Rindge Congregational Church’s Got Lunch program. It could also be a collaboration with the Conant class of 1973
Yours in Service,
Bill/John
