Hi Fellow Rotarians,
Lots going on this week!
Our next meeting of the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club will be September 14th at 7:15am at Franklin Pierce University. The Board of Directors' meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 13th, 8:00am at the Jaffrey Chamber of Commerce office.
This week, we will have the opportunity to meet Moritz, our Rotary exchange student from Germany, who will give us an update on his recent activities.
Dave Griffin, President of the Conant Class of 1973, will also be joining us to share an update on their recent fiftieth reunion activities, which raised $2,500 to go towards nutrition support for local students.
We also plan to start to explore several Rotary projects initially mentioned during our August 17th meeting. The following outlines our current list of exciting project opportunities.
- Russ Gaskamp - overnight warming shelter for the homeless through his Peterborough Church
- Bill Raymond - conversion of the former Jaffrey welcome center/gazebo site to a pollinator garden; tidy up & weed whack around signs coming into Jaffrey and Rindge
- Bob Schaumann - after-school program at Christian Camp Monadnock
- Andy Lawn - Community meal (part of the David Griffin class of 1973 initiative)
- Harold Davis - Coat Drive; Bird seed sales
- Rudra Aryal - Discussion with JRMS/Conant Students on Science and Math
John and I are excited to explore our growing list of potential Rotary projects. It is our objective to have a club vote to select two or three projects to support for our 2023/2024 support activities.
Look forward to seeing you all soon.
Bill/John
