I feel like Rip Van Winkle and am wondering where the first 5 months of 2015 has gone? Memorial Day weekend is upon us, a good time to reflect on the Men & Women who served so honorably in our Nation’s Armed Services. We have a considerable number of Veterans in our Rotary Club that I am proud to be associated with. Have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend.

Today was the May Board of Directors Meeting. There was some discussion regarding Membership and Members responsibilities. I encourage every Member of the Club to approach Incoming President, Sheila Bergeron in regards to participating in the numerous committees within the Club. We all know our strengths and weaknesses. Please offer to share whatever talents you have with the Club. The Board also discussed succession as an ever revolving/evolving executive Branch of the Club. Stay tuned.

Please make sure you remember to bring your contribution to the Foundation/Quest campaign. Clay works hard on this fund drive and we should try to make his job easier. There was discussion a couple of weeks ago regarding the point that our Club does not have an International project. Well John McCarthy has decided to “take the bull by the horns” and investigate doing a potential International Project. John participated in a Rotary International Project informational seminar last weekend. The Board of Directors was all in favor of John’s initiative!

The Meeting this Thursday is a Club Assembly. I have decided to make this a Club “Vision” Meeting. This is not a forum where the President proposes his vision of where our Club is headed in the next year or 5 years. This is a chance for ALL Club Members old and new to interact in an effort to see which direction we would like to see the Club progress. Many have stated that they like our Club just the way it is but the annual survey suggests that there are folks that would like to see moderate change. Make your voice heard at this Thursday’s Meeting.

Please mark the following on your calendars [especially Chief Todd and Sadie]. There is NO Rotary Meeting next Thursday May 28.
