Dear Rotarians,
This week, on Thursday, August 29th, the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club will return to Franklin Pierce University at 7:15am.
We are excited to welcome our new Rotarian, Dr. Marc Winiecki, as our speaker. He will speak on age-based food and health, a highly relevant subject to our community. In addition, each table will have a paper for your review to look over our tentative yearly schedule and for your input.
Sam Lafortune will also provide an update on the progress of our October 26th Raffle Party, which supports our community and reflects our club's strong commitment to public service.
Don't look now, but those cool nights are indicative of what's to come in the upcoming autumn months. Halloween is two months away! In years past, Team Jaffrey has requested Rotarians to assist at the annual Scarecrows on the Common event on Saturday, October 12th. Please mark your calendars from 10am to 2pm on Main Street to volunteer for this event, which attracts hundreds of families and visitors from Jaffrey and beyond.
Last week, we had a truly wonderful time. As your President, I am immensely proud of the enthusiasm shown by our Rotarians in placing roadside signs in Jaffrey and Rindge to welcome students back to school and the new academic year with the message, "DREAM BIG, WORK HARD, A GREAT YEAR IS AHEAD!" These signs serve as a visible symbol of our support for the students of the Jaffrey-Rindge school district and Franklin Pierce University.
On the same morning that we posted signs on Thursday, August 22nd, we also held a Rotary social event at the Peterborough Players at 5:30pm, followed by the season's best musical, "Man of La Mancha." The turnout was great, and the time spent chatting during the social hour was enjoyable. It was a great moment of connection with the community. A special thanks to Rotarian Don Upton for once again leading this social event! Coincidently, our fellow Rotarian Jed Brummer had his birthday that day, and we all celebrated his birthday. Thank you all for making these events a resounding success!
We eagerly look forward to seeing you this coming Thursday for another engaging and productive meeting. Your presence and active participation are what keep our club vibrant and dynamic.
Yours in Service,
Rudra

Hail, Hail, The Gang's All Here... Rotary Social

Rotarians and friends gathered at the Peterborough Players for an early evening social, followed by a sold-out performance of "Man of La Mancha." Not sure who the photographer was, but thank you, nonetheless, for taking this group shot. Do we see some potential Rotarians out there?
